About The Position

KID Museum is seeking a dynamic and hands-on leader to join their team as Manager, Community Experience & Volunteer Strategy. This role is responsible for leading the execution of community programs and building the necessary systems, partnerships, and volunteer pipeline to support the museum's mission of expanding access to high-quality STEM learning. The position involves community engagement, program implementation, volunteer strategy development, and operational systems improvement.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years in community engagement, volunteer management, program operations, or similar.
  • Experience building or managing volunteer programs.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, community-facing environments.
  • Relationship builder with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and access.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with local partners.
  • Expand outreach and participation in KID Museum programs.
  • Align partnerships with program capacity and priorities.
  • Lead planning and execution of STEM nights, community events, and off-site programs.
  • Oversee logistics, staffing, and participant experience.
  • Serve as on-site lead during programs (including weekends).
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage teen & adult volunteers.
  • Build systems that integrate volunteers across programs.
  • Support training, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Develop scalable processes and playbooks.
  • Improve workflows and program delivery efficiency.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align staffing and logistics.
