About The Position

The Manager, Commercial Finance, will support supplier and deal performance management across Loblaw’s sourcing portfolio. The role is responsible for supporting the Sr. Manager and Director in tracking the Sourcing’s performance towards value realization and maintaining the accuracy and completeness of all deals and records. The Manager will analyze deal and supplier results, maintain accurate performance reporting, identify exceptions, and support the Senior Manager in developing weekly and periodic reporting for Souring Leadership team.

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting Economics, Analytics or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in commercial finance, strategic finance, FP&A, sourcing finance, category finance, analytics or a related area.
  • Strong financial analysis, variance analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, financial-modelling, and tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, SAP.
  • Experience working with large datasets and multiple sources of financial and commercial information.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail, consumer goods, sourcing, procurement, or merchandising experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial integrity of deal summaries across the portfolio and related performance reporting and ensure the data accurately reflects the commercial commitments and expected value
  • Validate the financial measures and assumptions used in supplier-performance assessments.
  • Provide support in reconciling the differences between sourcing and merchandizing views of value realization and maintain appropriate supporting analysis and documentation
  • Analyze variances related to volume, mix, timing, implementation, supplier compliance, and other commercial drivers.
  • Support root-cause analysis of under-performing deals.
  • Prepare regular supplier, category, and deal-performance reporting.
  • Ensure data is accurate, complete, timely, and based on consistent definitions.
  • Maintain detailed trackers, scorecards, exception reports, and action logs.
  • Work with Data and Analytics teams to optimize and automate reporting to drive efficiency and simplification of recurring analysis
  • Work with Sourcing and Merchandising teams to validate supplier-performance information.
  • Partner with FP&A to reconcile deal expectations with transacted and reported results.
  • Follow up with action owners on unresolved performance gaps, and data issues.
  • Build strong working relationships across Finance, Sourcing, Merchandising, and Divisional teams.
