About The Position

The Manager, Cloud Engineering focuses on cloud and on-premises deployments of Dynamics 365, including related configurations, Azure DevOps setup, Azure services configuration, and environment monitoring and maintenance. The role designs and implements AX systems and cloud infrastructure, operating systems, networking, security, and systems-management architectures and solutions to enable effective client operations and collaboration.

The position executes project and program plans in alignment with operational objectives. Work is primarily focused on the individual’s own work and prescribed plans, involving complex problems within the discipline that require contextual judgment. The role has wide latitude within established work plans, works under general guidance while operating independently, and supports more junior colleagues, including some review of their work. Work efforts have an immediate impact on Avanade and/or client operations.

Requirements

• Preferred 6–8 years of work experience.
• Likely to possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Applies advanced knowledge of a learned occupation or discipline.
• Global skill requirements are to be determined in consultation with hiring managers, capability leads, and regional Talent Community champions.

Responsibilities

• Create build automation and/or build guides for reliable, repeatable server builds and deployments.
• Deploy enterprise-wide messaging and collaboration solutions to reduce administrative costs and improve end-user productivity.
• Collect, identify, define, and organize detailed user and systems requirements; coordinate with others to ensure plans and solutions meet customer needs and expectations.
• Monitor performance and analyze statistics to identify and resolve system problems.
• Establish and maintain security, including AX security, integrity, and business continuity controls and documentation.
• Design the AX technical infrastructure and its integration with the customer’s existing environment.
• Work with customer IT operations management.
• Design performance frameworks and high-availability architectures, and design and run performance benchmarks on critical business transactions.
• Configure and maintain Dynamics 365 cloud and on-premises deployments, Azure DevOps, and Azure services; monitor and maintain environments.
