About The Position

The Clinical Manager is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and management of all clinical support services provided to orthopaedic providers across the organization. This role ensures that clinical support is efficient, standardized, compliant, and aligned with best practices to deliver high-quality, safe patient care. The Clinical Manager provides leadership to multiple clinical support teams, including a remote RN triage nursing team, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) working in clinic settings, and Medical Assistants (MAs) supporting providers in clinic. The position is based on site at the organization’s largest location and requires periodic day travel to satellite offices to ensure consistency and excellence in clinical practices throughout the system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or Associates degree plus 5 years preferred.
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license
  • Strong knowledge of clinical workflows and patient care delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to write policies and procedures
  • Experience assessing competencies and training clinical staff
  • Proven ability to lead teams, hold staff accountable, and manage performance
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with providers and multidisciplinary teams
  • EMR experience required, MEDENT preferred
  • Computer skills required with minimum proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of clinical support teams, including: Remote RN triage nursing team, LPNs working directly with orthopaedic providers in clinic, Medical Assistants supporting clinic operations.
  • Ensure clinical workflows support efficient provider schedules and optimal patient experience.
  • Standardize and create quality assurance measures that reflect best clinical practices across all locations to promote safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance clinical efficiency and care delivery.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support clinical staff across multiple disciplines and locations.
  • Assess staff competencies and ensure ongoing education, training, and professional development.
  • Hold team members accountable to clinical standards, policies, and performance expectations.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, corrective action, and performance evaluations as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements, organizational goals, and evidence-based practice.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership, providers, and quality teams to address risk management, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Design and deliver training programs for clinical staff related to workflows, competencies, documentation, patient safety, and scope of practice.
  • Ensure consistent onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing staff across all locations.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for providers and staff, supporting best practices in orthopaedic care.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff and organizational leadership.
  • Maintain a regular on-site presence at the primary location.
  • Travel to satellite offices to observe workflows, support staff, and ensure consistent clinical standards are being followed.
  • Evolve in your role when performing supplemental responsibilities as assigned.
