Manager, Central Operations

Bishop Lifting Products IncHouston, TX

About The Position

Bishop Lifting is the leading distribution and service platform in the lifting and rigging industry, growing rapidly through acquisition across a national branch network. The Central Operations group exists to evolve that network into a world-class operation — driving standards, common processes, and technology enablement across every branch and business line. The Manager, Central Operations is the operations project manager at the center of that work. This person owns, designs, executes, and reports on the initiatives that mature and scale the Bishop Operating System — partnering with leaders across Rental, Retail, Service, and Wholesale to deliver measurable operational improvement. It is a hands-on, cross-functional role for someone who can run a project end-to-end, influence without authority, and move comfortably between the corporate office and the warehouse floor.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in project management, operations, or continuous improvement.
  • Strong project management skills — able to scope, plan, execute, and report on initiatives independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fluency with AI tools and a track record of using them to automate and add efficiency to processes.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
  • Able to travel 25–75% of the time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check (including MVR as travel is required).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree — preferred, not required. Equivalent experience is valued over a credential.
  • PMP and/or Lean Six Sigma certification — preferred, not required.
  • Experience in an industrial distribution company.
  • Based in (or open to) the DFW or Houston area — preferred, not required.
  • Experience deploying standards, processes, or technology across multi-site or field operations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Smartsheet.

Responsibilities

  • Act as project manager to own, design, execute, and report on initiatives that mature and scale the Bishop Operating System.
  • Partner across Rental, Retail, Service, and Wholesale to develop solutions that improve operations company-wide.
  • Identify inefficiencies within the Bishop network and recommend actions to improve them.
  • Drive operational excellence in an industrial distribution environment — including receiving, stocking, and pick, pack, and ship practices.
  • Advance the standards, common processes, and technology enablement that turn a growing branch network into a single, world-class operation.
  • Work with cross-functional departments and leaders to impact and influence the direction of the company and improve its offerings.
  • Leverage AI toolset(s) to automate processes and add efficiency to how the operation runs.
