About The Position

RBC Cards is a leading credit card business in Canada, significantly contributing to RBC’s Canadian Banking revenues and profits. The business has experienced substantial growth over the last five years, attributed to its strong Credit Card products and innovative strategy. The successful candidate for this role will support the development of credit strategy & modeling for RBC’s lending cards. As the Manager, Cards Lending Product, you will collaborate with risk and product teams, be accountable for the successful execution and integration of business strategies across multiple key stakeholders, and enhance shareholder value. Specifically, you will implement credit strategies and build models that align with product development goals to contribute to the broader Cards business objectives and results.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in product management and/or credit strategy & modeling
  • Strategic Mindset - ability to think strategically, integrate information from multiple sources and synthesize complex issues
  • Advance experience in analytics and developing data driven strategies
  • Strong ability to achieve results in the context of complexity, ambiguity and constant change
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask and shift priorities
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to resolve issues through innovative solutions
  • Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain effective working relationships and elicit cooperation from internal partners
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, understanding and responding)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint

  • Cards Knowledge – understanding of key credit card business drivers and operations
  • Experience in a marketing related environment.
  • Proficient in SQL / SAS

Responsibilities

  • Support underwriting model development to improve new acquisition adjudication by partnering with Borealis and credit strategists
  • Partner with credit risk to optimize credit strategies to align with business objectives and drive growth in balances
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and implement various test & learns (and downstream monitoring) by partnering with credit strategists, marketing and marketing science, digital, risk etc.
  • Monitor and report on strategy effectiveness and KPI outcomes relative to expectations, deliver insights on opportunities, and prepare executive-level presentations.
