About The Position
The Manager, Business Data Solutions provides machine learning expertise and strategic input to projects and ongoing operations. The role leads critical thinking and strategic planning for the design, implementation, and direction of AI/ML initiatives to improve business efficiency through digital strategy. It is also responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading manufacturing reports and dashboards. The manager researches and evaluates data visualization, machine learning, and modeling technologies; develops data systems and analytics; directly manages Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers; and creates models, algorithms, and visualizations that deliver supply chain insights. The role partners on the BI strategy, develops machine-learning-based A/B testing frameworks, and applies advanced statistical and predictive modeling to complex business problems and decision-support systems. It identifies processes that may benefit from AI/ML, develops reporting data structures, maintains expertise in department applications and interfaces, ensures dashboard and reporting accuracy, and participates in assigned business-unit initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of IT experience, with a thorough understanding of SDLC and Agile development methodology.
- At least 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Science, including data mining, Machine Learning, PLS, PCA, data architecture, data engineering, and Big Data.
- At least 3 years of experience as a BI reporting and visualization engineer, including Business Objects and Tableau Administration.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as SQL, Java, C++, Python, or R, and in data analytics, including DOE, statistics, mathematics, probability, test plans, and algorithms.
- Knowledge of robustness process improvement approaches such as SPC, Taguchi, and multifactorial analysis.
- Demonstrated experience applying data science methods to real-world data problems.
- Ability to work within and lead cross-functional teams in local and global environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, critical-thinking, and complex problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly translate requirements into prototypes and gain business buy-in.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Creative, outside-the-box mindset.

Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate new technologies in data visualization, machine learning, and modeling in collaboration with experts.
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analytics with the automation digitalization team to optimize efficiency and result quality.
- Directly manage a team of Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers.
- Develop custom models, algorithms, and interactive visualizations to deliver supply chain insights.
- Support and partner on implementation of the BI strategy.
- Develop A/B testing frameworks using machine learning techniques.
- Conduct experiments, test hypotheses, perform data mining, and build models to solve complex business problems; apply advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to improve decision-support systems.
- Identify and implement applications and processes that could benefit from AI/ML.
- Use data to challenge and reshape understanding of business behavior and performance.
- Develop data structures to support reporting requirements.
- Maintain expert knowledge of department applications, interfaces between applications, reporting processes, and data capture.
- Ensure accuracy in dashboarding and reporting.
- Participate in assigned business-unit projects and initiatives.
