About The Position

The Ambulatory Clinical Support Staff Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and daily operations of the MA Float Pool and the Medical Assistant (MA) Apprentice Program and the MA Float Pool. This role serves as the primary liaison between internal ambulatory leadership and external educational partners. The Manager ensures that MA float staff, apprentices, externs, are integrated effectively, meet rigorous clinical competency standards, and provide high-quality patient care across all ambulatory sites.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical practice.
  • Minimum of two years of leadership experience or relevant experience.
  • Minimum two years experience as Medical Assistant or equivalent experience.
  • Current Medical Assistant – Certified designation by Washington Department of Health (DOH).
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
  • One of the following certifications is required within 6 months of employment: Current Certified medical assistant examination through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered medical assistant certification examination through American Medical Technologists (AMT), Clinical medical assistant certification examination through the National Health Career Association (NHA), National certified medical assistant examination through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or The American Medical Certification Association AMCA examination (AMCA).

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Bachelors Degree.
  • Experience in Pediatric or clinic setting.
  • Experience in an academic medical center.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the operations of the MA Float Pool, including recruitment, scheduling, and deployment to meet fluctuating staffing demands across clinics.
  • Lead the MA Apprentice program, ensuring curriculum alignment with state regulations and organizational needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for MA schools to coordinate externship placements, ensuring a "top-of-mind" relationship for future hiring.
