LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Manager, Accreditation Operations: The Accreditation (ACR) functional area identifies and registers all participants in the Olympic and Paralympic Games and facilitates their access into Games venues through the issuance of Olympic Identify and Accreditation Cards (OIACs), Paralympic Identify and Accreditation Cards (PIACs) and various other devices under the authority of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The Manager , Accreditation Operations, will work in the ACR sub-function responsible for planning and delivery of services at all LA28 competition venues. The role will report to the Director, Accreditation Competition Venue Operations , and will represent the ACR functional area through the Event Operations Planning (EOP) sessions for a group of approx. 10 – 12 competition venues, ensuring that accreditation zoning and stakeholder flows are applied consistently and in line with the specifications defined by the IOC and IPC. Through coordination with internal functional areas including Venue Infrastructure (VNI), Logistics (LOG), Venue Technology (TEC), Workforce Operations (PEM) and Security (SEC), the Accreditation Competition Venue Operations team will plan and deliver the Venue Accreditation Offices, with a focus on providing all accredited participants with a seamless Games accreditation experience, whilst while maintaining high standards of inclusivity and integrity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in major event/venue or league accreditation planning and delivery.
  • Experience of large-scale sporting or similar major events.
  • Fluent working with Office suite products including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making
  • Understanding of event accreditation processes, programs and principles in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success delivering an accreditation program at a major event, venue or sports league, coordinating service providers, venue teams, cross-functional resources, timelines and processes.
  • Demonstrated success in leading operational teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Experience building teams, and working across various functions.
  • Excellent communication and human relations skills, including experience communicating with international communities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population, in particular international communities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent ACR during the Event Operations Planning (EOP) process for a group of LA28 competition venues.
  • Develop understanding of the accreditation process and requirements amongst EOP participants.
  • Coordinate with Event & Venue Management (EVM), Venue Infrastructure (VNI), accreditation zone owners, and space/room owners, as well as with incumbent venue operators, to understand and plan space allocation and stakeholder flows across each competition venue, leading to a comprehensive accreditation zoning plan.
  • Define zone-level access control point (ACP) positions, responsible owners, and operating policies and procedures.
  • Capture requests for Supplementary Access Control Devices (SACDs – bibs, armbands, stickers, additional passes etc.) required to support the specific operational requirements of the sports on the Games program in terms of regulating access to specific spaces.
  • Assist with the recruitment, training and management of the Accreditation Operations teams for LA28 competition venues.
  • Define space, energy, FF&E, technology infrastructure/connectivity, technology equipment, look, signage, and volunteer workforce requirements for the successful operation of accreditation services at each competition venue.
  • Support the Director, Accreditation Competition Venue Operations with one or more central projects within the Accreditation Operations sub-function’s responsibility, for example accreditation materials /supplies procurement, or Supplementary Access Control Device (SACD) scoping and approvals .
  • Provide accredited participants with high-quality and inclusive customer service and experience, whilst while ensuring that all LA28, IOC and IPC accreditation policies and procedures are implemented and followed, notably maintaining integrity of the accreditation process as a contributor to the security of the Games.
  • Establish and maintain consistent levels of service and issue resolution across all ACR facilities.
  • Coordinate with the other accreditation sub-functions (non-competition venue operations, systems, workforce and Games family stakeholder services, etc.) in the resolution of issues related to participants’ accreditations.
  • Provide support to the Director Accreditation Competition Venue Operations and functional area command center as necessary.
