About The Position

MSC Canada is seeking a highly motivated Manager, Accounts Payable to play a key role in supporting a rapidly growing organization. Requirements

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, Finance, or a related function
  • Minimum 2–3 years of people management experience, leading and developing a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA designation considered an asset)
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes, financial controls, and month-end close activities
  • Experience supporting internal/external audits and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, monitor, and improve KPIs using data-driven insights
  • Proven leadership capability with experience in coaching, performance management, and team development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Logistics, Finance, and global stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational, planning, and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Power BI or data visualization tools
  • Bilingual: French and English, both spoken and written to collaborate with customers, vendors and key stakeholders worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of AP professionals, ensuring alignment with company policies, employment standards, and performance expectations
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure delivery against KPIs, service levels, and quality standards
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including reporting requirements and internal audit support
  • Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments in accordance with agreed credit terms
  • Oversee vendor reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies
  • Maintain strong financial controls and compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Operations, Logistics, Finance, and Geneva stakeholders to resolve disputes and improve processes
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives, including participation in system or transformation projects
  • Navigate a highly complex environment of systems and operational requirements
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system-related issues, log and escalate IT tickets, and follow up to ensure timely resolution and minimal operational disruption
  • Contribute to departmental strategy and broader company initiatives
  • Support cross-functional communication to enhance efficiency and service delivery
