About The Position

The Manager - Accounts Payable is responsible for the overall performance of accounts payable operations across multiple entities, including payment accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. This role provides leadership and direction to accounts payable staff and leaders, establishes internal controls and standard processes, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The manager partners with Supply Chain, Finance, and operational leaders to ensure effective invoice-to-payment workflows and alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead overall accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, settlement runs, and recurring payment activities across multiple entities.
  • Oversee invoice intake and workflow processes to ensure timely, accurate routing, processing, and payment execution.
  • Ensure culture of coaching and development of accounts payable leaders and staff. This includes ongoing training and engagement.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor internal controls and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with organizational policies and audit requirements.
  • Monitor work queues, productivity, and key performance indicators; analyze trends and take action to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain partner relationships with Supply Chain, Finance, and operational departments to maximize efficient invoice-to-payment workflows.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including responding to escalations, resolving payment issues, and maintaining positive vendor partnerships.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record retention practices to support audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process standardization, workflow optimization, and system utilization.
  • Support financial operations by collaborating on reporting needs, payment timing, and cash management considerations, as appropriate.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
