About The Position

Lithium Americas is seeking a Manager, Corporate Accounting, to join our Finance & Accounting Department on a long-term temporary basis. In this role, you will be responsible for accounting and financial reporting in US GAAP and SOX internal controls for the corporate entities constituting the Lithium Americas group of companies. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to innovation, sustainability, and leadership in the clean energy sector. The role is based at our Vancouver office and reports to the Corporate Controller. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, CPA accounting designation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years accounting work experience with a public company.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team and across functional areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP as well as US GAAP and SOX considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Close the month-end for the Company’s corporate business units and prepare monthly reporting packages in US GAAP for the Company’s corporate business units for quarterly consolidation.
  • Prepare consolidated and subsidiary entity quarterly and year-end financial statements in US GAAP.
  • Manage the monthly accounting close process including supervision of preparation and review of account reconciliations, preparation and approval of journal entries and monthly accounting reports and working papers in compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and financial reports for operational business units for internal and external partners and investors.
  • Support Canadian and US accounts payable function for corporate and operational entities.
  • Assist with consolidation and preparation of quarterly external consolidated financial statements and MD&A under US GAAP.
  • Compile data for various internal and external reports such as surveys
  • Work with internal and external auditors
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Support SOX compliance and audit
  • Assist with tax returns and provisions

Benefits

  • Compensation: CDN$115,000-$130,000 a year
