IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This is a non-employee internship position. No benefits are available. This position is not covered by the Partnership Agreement between the State of Colorado and Colorado Workers for Innovative and New Solutions (COWins). The referral list generated by this position announcement may be used to fill multiple position vacancies and may be extended. Hybrid work options may be available at the supervisor’s discretion and based on business needs. The position will be based at 4300 Cherry Creek Drive South, Glendale, CO 80246. PART-TIME ONLY: This is a Part time Internship requiring 20 hours per week. TEMPORARY ONLY: This is a Temporary Internship for 5 months or less. This Internship is unpaid.

Requirements

Current or recently graduated (within the past 3 calendar years) Masters student from an accredited college or university in Public Health.
Must be a current resident of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting your application.
Must be willing and able to participate in the program from 10/26/2026 - 12/31/2026.

Ability to ask questions and seek mentorship when challenges arise.
Ability to work independently and integrate into small work groups.
Ability to focus and complete data entry with accuracy and validate data entry.

Responsibilities

Support daily operations of Colorado's Volunteer Management program by attending meetings related to volunteer management, responding to internal and external stakeholder inquiries, and entering data into the Volunteer Management electronic platform for volunteer processing.
Participate in mentorship on meeting etiquette, training and access to processing volunteers in the state platform, and mentorship on communications, and participating in process improvement initiatives that follow public health best practices.
Gain competencies in public health practices in program operations and stakeholdering and supports completing daily operations of the program.
Internal and external partner communications verbally and orally.
Participation in stakeholdering processes, meetings, communications specific to public health best practices.
Process Improvement initiatives participation as part of public health practices.
