The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated, entry-level role designed to prepare participants for store management in 18–24 months. After successfully completing the initial eight-week training, participants may progress to an Assistant Store Manager position. The typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends. Participants collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, learning store operations, customers, and internal strategy. The role focuses on growing market share by selling high-quality products in large volumes to commercial customers such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers, and other commercial users. The training program develops skills in management and professional sales, including customer service, sales and marketing, finance, and operations. It also includes development discussions and opportunities to build community relationships and professional networks. The job involves contact with customers, including potentially minors, and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other items of value. Sherwin-Williams states that it conducts a criminal history review to protect its business, operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the public.
