About The Position

The Energy Providers practice helps utilities and energy companies lead the way in an industry undergoing rapid transformation. As companies respond to the requirements for rapidly growing demand, increased reliability, and improved resilience, they need to balance initiatives against energy costs and customer affordability. As AI-driven data centers surge in energy demand and new policies reshape the landscape, utilities face a complex and evolving environment. Our practice empowers clients to embrace new business models and leverage emerging technologies to upgrade operations, drive efficiency, and ensure compliance, all while enhancing resilience and capturing market opportunities.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident, due to nature of client engagements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity about the energy industry and a desire to make a tangible impact through consulting work
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work onsite in a core Guidehouse Office or Client Office location
  • Currently reside in the contiguous United States

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to candidates residing within 50 miles of a core Guidehouse Office or Client Office location
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Grid modernization and/or transformation, Electric/Power Utilities technology integration or adoption, AI/ML Technology Modernization solutions, Utilities-related projects supporting Transmission & Distribution (T&D) operations, Utilities infrastructure resilience, NERC CIP program support and/or management, Cybersecurity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to support business development by contributing to proposals, client pitches, and account growth strategies and developing client relationships.
  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with data

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to innovative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clients, leveraging cutting-edge methodologies and tools.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to support project recommendations and solutions, inform strategic decisions, and develop actionable insights. This may include data collection, market research and analysis, benchmarking, and economic modeling.
  • Apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify issues, develop solutions, and make informed decisions that align with client goals.
  • Prepare detailed, high-quality reports, presentations, and other documentation for client deliverables to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and senior team members.
  • Effectively and regularly engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and communicate solutions, fostering strong relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a positive team environment that encourages growth and innovation.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development, including attending training sessions, obtaining relevant certifications, and staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Assist in project management tasks, such as scheduling meetings, tracking project timelines, and ensuring deliverables are completed on time.
