About The Position

Summary: The Management Accountant is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial information to support strategic decision-making. The role involves overseeing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and supervising junior finance staff. The postholder will ensure financial controls are maintained and support senior leadership with insightful financial reporting

Requirements

• Previous experience within a similar finance role is essential, this is an all-round finance role which will give the individual the opportunity to have the autonomy to take full ownership of the month end process and finance function.
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or finalist
• Excellent Excel skills
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good time management skills with the ability to operate to tight deadlines.
• Proactive, demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm.

Nice To Haves

• An experienced user of Paprika is desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
• Analyse financial performance and provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and support departmental budget holders.
• Prepare rolling forecasts and financial projections.
• Monitor financial performance against budget.
• Review work produced by junior staff and ensure accuracy.
• Provide mentoring and training where required.
• Maintain strong financial controls and processes.
• Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with year-end accounts and support external auditors.
• Other Ad Hoc duties/general support to the Finance Director & wider department heads.
