The role offers a unique opportunity to work across a diverse docket, handling both sophisticated business disputes and healthcare-related litigation.

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of California
  • 3+ years of litigation experience, with a mix of commercial and/or healthcare defense preferred
  • Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Some background in managed care, insurance defense, or healthcare litigation preferred
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, reimbursement disputes, provider-payor issues) preferred
  • Experience with arbitration and alternative dispute resolution preferred
  • Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred
  • Experience handling court appearances, depositions
  • Trial experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload as part of a team, working cases from beginning to end
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports
