About The Position
The Tipton Group is hiring a Make Ready Technician to join its apartment maintenance team in Plano, Texas. The role prepares apartment homes for new residents and helps maintain the upkeep and appearance of the community. The technician works alongside the maintenance team and collaborates with property management to provide service to residents. The position includes completing apartment turnovers, making general repairs, assisting with basic building systems and preventative maintenance, inspecting vacant units, and helping with grounds upkeep. The technician also participates in the property's on-call rotation. Pre-employment screening includes drug testing and background checks.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of make-ready, groundskeeping, apartment maintenance, or similar experience.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to provide and use your own basic tools.
- Professional and courteous when interacting with residents, visitors, and coworkers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Complete apartment turnovers and make-readies for new residents.
- Perform painting, touch-ups, and general repairs.
- Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and preventative maintenance.
- Inspect vacant units and help ensure apartments are move-in ready.
- Assist with grounds upkeep, including trash pickup and light landscaping.
- Help maintain the overall appearance of the property.
- Respond to maintenance needs as part of the property's on-call rotation.
- Work closely with the maintenance and property management teams to provide excellent service to residents.
