About The Position

This is a Part Time - Temporary position in Recreation Services. The role is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled park maintenance tasks. Incumbents receive general supervision and are expected to work independently on routine assignments. The position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime compensation. The deadline to apply is 07/30/2026. The pay range is $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old at the time of hire.
Possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
Must be familiar with safely towing and maneuvering trailers as part of daily operational duties.
Must be able to perform physical work outdoors under all weather conditions.
Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time in outdoor weather conditions.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work independently with general supervision.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
Ability to follow safety procedures and department policies.
Successful candidate will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include: Drug screening, Motor vehicle records check, Criminal background screening.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of park and turf maintenance practices and procedures.
Knowledge of the safe operation of mowing and landscape maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled park maintenance tasks including mowing and trimming park turf areas, raking, weeding, litter removal, and assisting with special event preparation, facility setup, and general park upkeep.
Operate mowing equipment, weed whacker, blowers, and other landscape maintenance tools safely and efficiently.
Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
Identify hazards such as debris, irrigation heads, uneven terrain, and unsafe conditions.
Assist with general park maintenance tasks and special event setup as required.
