Under general supervision, this position performs building maintenance services on City facilities and acts in a lead capacity over other Building Maintenance personnel. Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include inspecting buildings and equipment for needed repairs and maintenance, performing minor repairs to furniture and equipment, semi-skilled carpentry, installing and replacing floor and ceramic tiles, driving vehicles, moving furniture and equipment, performing basic service on pumps and air handlers, operating various power tools and saws, performing simple plumbing installations and repairs, painting, varnishing, and sealing surfaces, hammering nails and stakes, installing door closers and locks, measuring using various tools, and reading blueprints.
