About The Position

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is currently seeking a Maintenance Worker III to join the Institute’s Facilities Team. Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Worker III will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing central plant equipment. This includes heating hot water boilers, steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, air compressors vacuum pumps and associated support equipment. The individual will also assist with plumbing, HVAC repairs, welding/welding repairs and other related duties and tasks as required or assigned. Will be required to respond in a timely fashion to a variety of alarms to include equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, IT system alarms, and all other related types of notifications.

Requirements

High school diploma
Journeyman license
4+ years of directly-related maintenance experience
Demonstrated skills in general maintenance
Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of maintenance problems
Ability to complete associated paperwork
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed
Post-offer background check
Ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB)

Nice To Haves

Prior documented experience working with HVAC-R, plumbing, boiler operations, supply and exhaust fans, pumps, evaporative coolers, air filtration systems, welding certification, gas fired heaters and minor electrical experience.

Responsibilities
