About The Position

Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is currently seeking a Maintenance Worker III to join the Institute’s Facilities Team. Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Worker III will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing central plant equipment. This includes heating hot water boilers, steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, air compressors vacuum pumps and associated support equipment. The individual will also assist with plumbing, HVAC repairs, welding/welding repairs and other related duties and tasks as required or assigned. Will be required to respond in a timely fashion to a variety of alarms to include equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, IT system alarms, and all other related types of notifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Journeyman license
  • 4+ years of directly-related maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated skills in general maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of maintenance problems
  • Ability to complete associated paperwork with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn department-specific computer systems
  • Post-offer background check
  • Ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB)

Responsibilities

  • Performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing central plant equipment including heating hot water boilers, steam boilers, centrifugal chillers, air compressors, and vacuum pumps.
  • Assisting with plumbing, HVAC repairs, and welding/welding repairs.
  • Responding to a variety of alarms, including equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, and IT system alarms.
