About The Position

Monarch Investment and Management Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Minot, ND. This is a hands-on maintenance position at The Commons & Landing at Southgate community with guaranteed full-time hours. The role focuses on HVAC related work orders, including diagnosing and repairing common HVAC issues, detecting and soldering refrigerant leaks, recharging freon gas, changing failing compressors and blower motors, and replacing limit switches & fuses. Other responsibilities may include performing basic preventative maintenance, and depending on workload, performing non-HVAC repairs such as plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs. Some unit turn maintenance and cleaning may also be required. The position requires participation in a monthly rotation of a 24/7 on-call emergency cell phone (1 week every 3 weeks) and snow removal during the winter season. A written skills maintenance test will be administered as part of the interview process. Pre-employment screenings include a criminal background check, drug screening, and a valid Driver's License.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • EPA Certification preferred.
  • Appliance repair skills preferred.
  • Plumbing skills.
  • Multifamily experience preferred, but all maintenance professionals are encouraged to apply.
  • Must participate in a monthly rotation of a 24/7 on-call emergency cell phone (1 week every 3 weeks).
  • Must complete a written skills maintenance test.
  • Must pass pre-employment screenings including a criminal background check, drug screening, and a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all assigned work orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Diagnosing and repairing common HVAC issues.
  • Detecting and soldering refrigerant leaks.
  • Recharging freon gas.
  • Changing failing compressors and blower motors.
  • Replacing limit switches & fuses.
  • Performing basic preventative maintenance including filter changes and coil cleanings.
  • Performing basic plumbing repairs.
  • Performing basic electrical repairs.
  • Performing appliance repairs.
  • Performing unit turn maintenance and cleaning.
  • Participating in a monthly rotation of a 24/7 on-call emergency cell phone (1 week every 3 weeks).
  • Performing snow removal (when needed during the winter season).
