About The Position

At Balfour Beatty Communities, the Maintenance Technician helps deliver quality communities by maintaining the community’s overall physical condition and providing service to residents. The role diagnoses maintenance issues, performs necessary repairs, and ensures resident service requests and other community maintenance are completed in a timely manner.

The technician provides general maintenance support for property systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, utilities, and lighting, and helps ensure company safety and environmental policies and procedures are followed. The position includes working a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 maintenance coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Basic understanding of at least one discipline: electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
• Ability to make repairs to resident homes to company standards within time limits.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Active and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the overall physical condition of the community.
• Diagnose maintenance issues and make necessary repairs.
• Complete resident service requests and other community maintenance in a timely manner.
• Provide general maintenance support for property HVAC, mechanical, electrical, utilities, and lighting systems, including inspections and repairs.
• Execute company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Provide responsive, consistent, positive, and professional service to residents.
• Work a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 maintenance coverage.
