About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance and other duties to preserve and maintain the building, fixtures, and residential spaces at Brigham Lofts. The role responds to service requests in occupied and vacant rental units, handles repairs and replacements, carries out preventative maintenance, inspects and prepares vacant units for move-ins, and supports property operations. The position is part-time, hourly/non-exempt, scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Compensation is $18–$22 per hour, with eligibility for monthly commissions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least two years of general residential maintenance experience.
HVAC certification.
Pool certification.
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and energy management systems.
Certifications or licenses required by local, state, or other regulations.
Reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and a valid driver’s license.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work on call as scheduled and work weekends and after hours as necessary.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Respond to resident and management service requests for occupied and vacant rental units.
Repair or replace appliances, plumbing, and air conditioning, heating, and electrical systems as needed.
Repair or replace apartment materials and complete maintenance requests.
Identify and perform routine preventative maintenance assignments.
Inspect and repair vacant units and prepare them for move-ins.
Work on call as scheduled 24/7, including weekend shifts and overtime when necessary and pre-approved by the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.
Perform tasks and operate machinery safely and in compliance with safety procedures.
Complete grounds work, including grounds pickup, sweeping, and light landscaping.
Perform other duties as requested to support property operations.
