About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out, supervising, or coordinating clubhouse repairs and general maintenance needed for equipment, furniture, masonry, and building structures to maintain the club property in optimal condition and appearance. This role involves a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks, ensuring the property is well-kept and safe. The position requires a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and the ability to respond to emergencies. The technician will also assist with special functions and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Two years or more of maintenance experience in an institutional or business setting.
  • Basic knowledge of trades to understand repair problems and make minor repairs on outlets, lamps, and plumbing fixtures.
  • General knowledge of power tools.
  • Wood floor maintenance and installation of floor tiles.
  • Knowledge about maintaining, cleaning, and preserving a wide variety of surfaces.
  • Follows instruction regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Use ladders up to 32 feet.
  • Regular in-person attendance required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School education or G.E.D. Equivalent preferred.
  • Post-secondary vocational/technical training in electrical engineering, HVAC, or refrigeration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and makes general repairs to plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, ventilation systems, and building structures.
  • Maintains equipment of the club property.
  • Maintains the filtration and chlorination of swimming pool, tests swimming pool water, and maintains daily log of water test results.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) as required.
  • Installs tile, drywall; makes grouting repairs, patches walls, and paves brick.
  • Monitors work done by outside contractors and communicates project status to the Director of Facility.
  • Visually inspects rooms, public spaces, and back of the house areas to replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, etc.
  • Ensures that all building maintenance, repair, and cleaning activities are identified.
  • Keeps the workshop areas safe, clean, and well-lit.
  • Ensures that all refuse is properly removed from the clubhouse and its premises.
  • Attends staff meetings, including the Safety committee.
  • Responds to emergencies at any time.
  • Assists with preparation of special functions, parties, and tournaments by installing decorations and constructing display pieces.
  • Ensures a highly efficient safety program with an emphasis on awareness, discipline, and compliance; implements an overall safety program that conforms to OSHA standards.
  • Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Director of Facility Maintenance.
