About The Position

Vie Management is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their student housing community in Austin, Texas. This role is ideal for individuals with strong apartment maintenance experience, particularly those with HVAC skills or a desire to grow in that area. The position focuses on maintaining the community, ensuring resident satisfaction through prompt and professional service, and contributing to a positive living environment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or related experience
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, painting, and carpentry
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications to manage work orders, inspections, and daily maintenance tasks
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• EPA HVAC Certification (Universal Certification is a plus, but not required)
• Experience diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests promptly and professionally
• Perform preventative maintenance throughout the community
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems (based on experience and certification level)
• Prepare apartment homes for new residents by completing make-ready work
• Repair plumbing, electrical, appliances, drywall, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance issues
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and amenities
• Maintain accurate work orders using smartphones, tablets, and mobile maintenance applications
• Keep the maintenance shop clean, organized, and properly stocked
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs
• Work closely with the property management team to deliver an outstanding resident experience
