Maintenance Technician - Make Ready
About The Position
Weinstein Properties is hiring a Maintenance Technician - Make Ready for Bexley at Tech Ridge Apartments in Austin, Texas. This is a full-time, long-term role focused on preparing vacant apartments for occupancy and supporting the upkeep of the community. The position offers a starting wage of $20 per hour, or $21 per hour for technicians who are EPA certified, along with on-call pay and a quarterly performance-based bonus. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 40 hours per week, with participation in a rotating emergency on-call schedule. The technician works with the maintenance team to complete apartment turns, handle work orders, maintain grounds and amenities, and help keep the property running smoothly. The job requires hands-on maintenance experience, physical work indoors and outdoors throughout the year, and use of tools, computers, and mobile devices.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of apartment or residential maintenance experience.
- A strong customer service mindset and pride in your work.
- Ability to work independently while being a reliable team player.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing tasks.
- Reliable transportation.
- Comfort using computers and mobile devices, including Outlook and work order systems.
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Background check required.
Nice To Haves
- EPA certification (Type II or Universal) and hands-on HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Willingness to train and work toward HVAC certification if not already certified.
Responsibilities
- Complete the turn/make-ready process for vacant apartments.
- Assist the team with maintenance work orders as needed.
- Work with the team to maintain property grounds on a daily basis.
- Help maintain the overall appearance of the community, including grounds, amenities, and pool areas.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to keep the property running smoothly.
