The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement, production strategies and plant reliability of equipment and building systems. The role involves understanding and adhering to governmental regulatory programs and policies, practicing and complying with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures, and following all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's). The technician will maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and attend training as needed to maintain skill level. They will make improvements and suggestions to optimize the maintenance program, execute and document planned and unplanned work findings and data during shift via computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and perform repairs and installation of parts, tools, and equipment. Fabrication or modification of machines, tools, or equipment may be required to improve existing products. The role includes performing Preventative Maintenance (PM), inspections, corrective repairs, special projects/equipment rebuilds, and execution and resolution of equipment breakdowns/repairs. Leveraging methodologies such as root cause analysis (RCA), break down failure analysis (BDA), and cause maps to identify and resolve equipment issues is essential. Utilizing predictive maintenance technologies like ultrasound, thermal imaging, oil analysis, and vibration analysis to identify failures and take corrective actions is also part of the role. Documenting the cause of failure and collaborating with the team to prevent reoccurrence is key. The technician will understand and interpret technical documents and diagrams, maintain and repair facility/utility systems, and execute PMs and repairs to various building systems including HVAC, refrigeration, instrumentation, and plumbing. They may also be required to perform tests, repair, and replacement of fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Handling plant waste in compliance with regulations is also a responsibility. Other duties may be performed as required.
