Engineering - Maintenance Technician
About The Position
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of maintenance trade functions at Hotel Indigo Cleveland Gateway, including installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and hotel systems. Work includes HVAC, painting, wall repair, tile work, and upkeep of the property's preventive maintenance program. The technician works closely with other team members and is expected to be adaptable, detail-oriented, and engaging while helping provide an exceptional guest experience. The role includes maintaining building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; repairing appliances and related electrical components; fixing plumbing fixtures and piping; making repairs to woodwork, wall coverings, doors, windows, and carpeting; and performing mechanical maintenance on equipment such as pumps, compressors, and water heaters. The technician also maintains task logs and records and submits reports as requested.
Requirements
- Experience working in a maintenance role at a hotel or resort.
- Knowledge of household repairs, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to walk, stand, reach, crouch, bend, and push or pull throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance of building and facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Perform general electrical repairs on appliances, house wiring, air conditioning systems, switches, fixtures, and motors.
- Repair plumbing fixtures, piping, drains, and sanitary systems.
- Repair woodwork, wall vinyl, doors, windows, carpeting, and similar items.
- Perform general mechanical maintenance on pumps, compressors, water heaters, automotive equipment, and other miscellaneous equipment.
- Maintain records and logs of completed tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports as requested by supervisors and submit requested reports and logs in a timely manner.
- Help maintain the hotel's preventive maintenance program.
