Maintenance Technician - Make Ready
About The Position
Weinstein Properties is hiring a Maintenance Technician – Make Ready for Bexley at Tech Ridge Apartments in Austin, Texas. This is a full-time, long-term position at a well-maintained community. The technician completes apartment turns and make-ready work, assists with maintenance requests, and helps maintain the property’s grounds, amenities, pool areas, and overall appearance. The role works collaboratively with the maintenance team and includes participation in a rotating emergency on-call schedule. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 40 hours per week. Starting pay is $20 per hour, or $21 per hour for employees who are EPA certified. On-call pay is $150 per week, whether or not calls are received, with an additional $150 for each holiday on call. Quarterly bonuses of up to $980 are based on property and team performance.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of apartment or residential maintenance experience.
- Willingness to train and work toward HVAC certification if not already certified.
- Strong customer service mindset and pride in work.
- Ability to work independently while being a reliable team player.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing tasks.
- Reliable transportation.
- Comfort using computers and mobile devices, including Outlook and work order systems.
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Background check required.
Nice To Haves
- EPA certification (Type II or Universal).
- Hands-on HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.
Responsibilities
- Complete the turn and make-ready process for vacant apartments.
- Assist the team with maintenance work orders as needed.
- Help maintain property grounds on a daily basis.
- Help maintain the overall appearance of the community, including grounds, amenities, and pool areas.
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to keep the property running smoothly.
- Participate in the team’s rotating emergency on-call schedule.
