About The Position

Under general supervision, the Maintenance 2 Technician performs semi-skilled work in the daily and preventive care, repair, and maintenance of building systems and equipment. The role can involve plumbing, electrical, roofing, flooring, masonry, painting, mechanical, and carpentry work, with an emphasis on general maintenance, appliance repair, painting and texture experience, and general knowledge of HVAC systems. The position is full-time, with hours Sunday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The pay range is $19–$27 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• One to two years of experience in a related field of building maintenance or construction.
• Certification, license, or equivalent as required by state and/or local regulations to operate or repair certain equipment in a technical field such as HVAC, building trades, or building utilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned maintenance duties and routine preventive maintenance, particularly appliance repair, painting, and tasks requiring general knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Install, finish, repair, paint, remove, and dispose of drywall or other materials.
• Repair and maintain equipment in resident units and the community.
• Perform general plumbing tasks, including changing faucets and mixing valves, plunging toilets, replacing wax rings, rebuilding toilets, and clearing drains.
• Perform general electrical tasks, including lockout/tagout, bulb and ballast replacement, fixture changes, fuse replacement, and light switch or outlet replacement.
• Communicate effectively with team members, residents, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and city, state, and federal officials as required, in person, by phone, in writing, or via radio.
