Maintenance Technician - On Call

About The Position

Cogir Senior Living is seeking an on-call Maintenance Technician to maintain the structural integrity of the building and address maintenance-related issues. The technician troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains building systems, equipment, and appliances, completing repairs and services promptly and in accordance with operating and safety standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to exceptional service.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of maintenance or handyman experience in a senior living, multi-apartment, or hotel setting.
General maintenance skills, including HVAC, drywall repair and texturing, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, basic repairs, painting, floor care, and landscaping.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Good time management and organizational skills.
Friendly, professional demeanor and a customer service mindset.
Comfort working with cleaning chemicals, tools, and machinery.

Professional maintenance-related certifications.

Responsibilities

Perform routine building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, floor care, pressure washing, and appliance repairs.
Complete repairs and service orders promptly while following operating and safety standards.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment.
Repair vacated rooms promptly and prepare them for new residents.
Maintain walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in common areas.
Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment inventory.
Keep accurate records of maintenance work, service logs, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
Maintain positive communication with the local fire marshal, building inspector, state elevator inspector, and other jurisdictions governing the community.
Work within the legal scope of local and state codes.
