About The Position

Cogir Senior Living is hiring an on-call Maintenance Technician to maintain the structural integrity of the building and address company maintenance needs. The technician troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains building systems, equipment, and appliances, completing work promptly and in accordance with operating and safety standards. The role calls for a proactive, detail-oriented person committed to providing exceptional service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of prior maintenance or handyman experience in a senior living, multi-apartment, or hotel setting.
• Well-rounded general maintenance skills, including HVAC, drywall repair and texturing, carpentry, minor electrical work, plumbing, basic repairs, painting, floor care, and landscaping.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently, with good time-management and organizational skills.
• Friendly and professional demeanor with a customer-service mindset.
• Comfort working with cleaning chemicals, tools, and machinery.

• Professional maintenance-related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, floor care, pressure washing, and appliance repairs.
• Complete repairs and service orders promptly and in accordance with operating and safety standards.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment.
• Repair vacated rooms promptly and prepare them for new residents.
• Maintain walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in community common areas.
• Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment inventory.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance work, service logs, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
• Maintain positive communication with local fire marshals, building inspectors, state elevator inspectors, and other jurisdictions governing the community.
• Work within the legal scope of local and state codes.
