About The Position

This position requires a skilled mechanic or electrician to maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment. The role demands competence in safety rules and practices, good communication skills with various organizational levels, and the ability to read and understand blueprints and procedures. The job involves working 12-hour shifts standing on concrete, lifting up to 40 pounds regularly, periodically climbing stairs, and working in heat. Requirements

Working knowledge and ability to perform skilled work as a mechanic or electrician to maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment
Competence and knowledge of safety rules and practices
Basic knowledge to read and understand blueprints and procedures
3 years’ experience in maintenance production machinery
Basic knowledge of extrusion, vacuum systems, material transfer, air systems, preventative maintenance, safety equipment, fork trucks, & plumbing

Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot process/plant equipment
Perform preventive/routine maintenance on compressors, fork trucks, oilers, and filters
Repair and troubleshoot 3 phase 480v systems
Repair and troubleshoot process controls – PLC & instrumentation controls
Accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices
Read and understand blueprints
Perform work as a machinist, electrician, and HVAC technician
Perform complete start-up of production runs
Perform form tooling and shear maintenance
Set up drum and shear tools during changeovers
Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment
Perform drum stand removal & installation
Perform drum wheel, extrusion die and lip changes
Perform welding, plumbing, and carpentry tasks
Work 12-hour shifts standing on concrete
Lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
Go up steps periodically throughout the day
Work in the heat
Perform other designated duties of the quality system as assigned
Operate powered industrial trucks and lifts
