About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs varied mechanical, basic electrical, and basic control and instrument maintenance activities, along with other duties necessary to maintain the assigned generation facility. The role supports equipment and system reliability through troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, cleaning, inspection, construction, welding, and facility housekeeping. Work is performed according to established procedures and safety practices.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Journey-level experience in the mechanical trade.
Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
Well-developed machining skills.
Knowledge of welding theory and skill in welding.
Knowledge of company safety rules.
High degree of mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
Strong leadership ability.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, clean, inspect, and construct mechanical, basic electrical, and basic instrument and control equipment and systems at the generation facility.
Operate or obtain information from mechanical and electrical devices used for diagnostics and work activities; gather, interpret, and log data.
Use machine tools and hand-powered tools as job needs dictate.
Operate mobile and heavy equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
Perform welding activities.
Support safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements through continuous improvement activities.
Perform work according to established procedures and safety practices.
Perform housekeeping functions in generating plant and shop areas.
Perform other duties that are similar, related, or incidental to the position.
