About The Position

At Mercy Housing, the Maintenance Technician will complete preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers. The role supports the maintenance team at Kimball Tower, a 152-unit property providing homes to seniors in the Los Angeles area. The technician is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and customer service and ensuring a hazard-free environment. This is an on-site position. Pay is $20.00–$25.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance, acquired through training or experience.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver's license and insurance.
• Take direction from the supervisor.
• Read, write, perform basic math, and follow instructions.
• Adapt to changes in work plans.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of skilled maintenance work.
• Technical training in one or more building trades.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Clean up after completing work.
• Perform property repairs, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Clean apartments during the turnover process, as directed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
