Maintenance Technician-Second Shift
About The Position
NIC Global is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a second-shift schedule of Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The shift includes a $2.00-per-hour differential. NIC Global is a single-source manufacturer providing mechanical and electromechanical assembly, sheet metal fabrication, and global sourcing of metal and plastic components. The company employs more than 600 people across Washington, Tennessee, Ohio, and Texas. The Maintenance Technician services and maintains machine tools, hand and power tools, and machine attachments. The role also supports building maintenance, repairs or replaces worn and defective parts, performs some welding and fabrication, and helps move equipment and furniture. The position does not have responsibility for other employees’ work. Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.
Requirements
- At least one year of industrial maintenance experience or specialized training in a related field.
- Good practical and technical skills.
- Ability in math and understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
- Ability to work quickly and under pressure.
- Awareness of health and safety legislation.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations.
- Preventative maintenance tasks may involve working on ladders, scissor lifts, and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Service and maintain machine tools, hand and power tools, and machine attachments.
- Check, service, and clean compressors, hydraulics, plumbing fixtures, motors, relays and contacts, and electrical and electronic panels and controls.
- Replace parts and control modules.
- Perform carpentry and related work to maintain buildings.
- Disassemble equipment; select repair procedures; and repair or replace worn or defective parts using hand, power, and machine tools.
- Perform some welding and fabricate fixtures and guarding.
- Help move equipment and furniture.
