About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with the general maintenance of the hotel, performing minor repairs and routine tasks in painting, plumbing, and electrical systems. This role also involves tending to air conditioning, cooling towers, and boilers to ensure guest comfort, as well as maintaining the pool area. A key aspect of the job is to enhance guest satisfaction through excellent service delivery and by fostering employee development. The technician must respond to guest requests, complaints, and questions courteously and promptly, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the English language for effective communication. The role requires accurate reporting of information, adherence to all company policies, and professional conduct. Projects and assignments must be completed thoroughly and professionally. The ability to adapt to high-pressure situations and embrace change is essential, along with taking responsibility for personal growth and development.

Requirements

Minimum lifting of 70 pounds.
Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
Hearing, writing, typing.
Minimum pulling of 70 pounds.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
Ability to accurately report information.
Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
Must have a knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
Must have good mathematical and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

High school education and relevant training and experience preferred.
CPR training and first aid training preferred.
Additional language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with maintaining hotel, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
Replace air conditioner filters.
Tend, air conditioners, cooling towers and boilers to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
Maintain standards of quality guest service.
Tend to pool area including chemical balancing, cleaning, etc.
Increase level of guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional product through employee development.
Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
Attend required meetings.
Ensure projects and assignments are completed thoroughly, professionally, and with care.
Adjust to high-pressure conditions and be open to change.
Assume responsibility for personal growth and development.
Conduct him/herself (acts and dresses) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates.
