About The Position

The Maintenance Technician supports one or multiple apartment properties by handling routine service requests and preventative maintenance safely and promptly, with the goal of providing superior customer service to residents. The role is for an apartment community in Warminster, Pennsylvania. The technician performs maintenance on units and common areas, diagnoses and repairs HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues, maintains property logs and inventory, and helps keep the work environment clean and safe. The position includes shared on-call responsibility and requires providing basic hand tools.

Requirements

Demonstrate appropriate and safe use of standard hand and power tools.
Be able to lift and move heavy items, such as water heaters, appliances, and rock salt.
Be able to shovel and apply salt as required.
Have knowledge and practice of a variety of building trade skills.
Be able to work on step and extension ladders and roofs while following safety protocols.
Be able and willing to lift objects as required.
Have a positive, team-oriented attitude and understand and follow Westover Companies core values.
Have a reliable work ethic and dependable transportation.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and working vehicle.
Ability to work an on-call schedule as required.

Responsibilities

Exhibit a strong commitment to the service needs of internal and external customers.
Communicate and work effectively with leasing and maintenance staff.
Represent the company professionally and courteously.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, service requests, unit turnovers, and preventative maintenance in units and common areas, along with other assigned duties.
Share on-call responsibility and work an on-call schedule as required.
Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing-related issues.
Provide basic hand tools.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Attend in-house training as required.
Maintain current preventative maintenance property logs.
Keep track of inventory and maintain a clean, stocked shop.
Complete work orders in a timely manner.
Identify safety hazards and communicate issues.
Follow company operational and safety procedures.
