Maintenance Technician (Oaktree Apt.)-FREE HEALTHCARE
About The Position
The Maintenance Technician supports one or multiple apartment properties by completing routine service requests and preventative maintenance safely and promptly, providing residents with superior customer service. The role is based at the Oaktree apartment community in Newark, Delaware, and includes routine maintenance, service requests, unit turnovers, and upkeep of units and common areas. The technician diagnoses and repairs HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues, shares on-call responsibility, maintains property preventative-maintenance logs, and helps keep the work area clean, safe, and stocked. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a flexible schedule and overtime available.
Requirements
- Demonstrated safe and appropriate use of standard hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, including water heaters, appliances, and rock salt, and to shovel and salt as needed.
- Ability and willingness to lift objects as required.
- Ability to work on step and extension ladders and roofs while following safety protocols.
- Routine and preventative maintenance ability and knowledge of a variety of building-trade skills.
- Ability to work an on-call schedule as required.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to understand and follow Westover Companies' core values.
- Reliable work ethic and dependable transportation.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and a working vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Provide responsive service to internal and external customers and work cooperatively with leasing and maintenance staff.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously.
- Perform routine maintenance, service requests, unit turnovers, and preventative maintenance in units and common areas, along with other assigned duties.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues.
- Share on-call responsibilities and work an on-call schedule as required.
- Provide basic hand tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and keep the shop clean and stocked.
- Attend required in-house training and maintain current preventative-maintenance property logs.
- Complete work orders promptly.
- Track inventory and identify and communicate safety hazards or other hazardous conditions.
- Follow company operating and safety procedures.
