About The Position

Crothall Healthcare is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of maintenance duties at VCU Health in Richmond, Virginia. This is a second-shift position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The technician troubleshoots and repairs building equipment and systems, performs preventative maintenance, conducts inspections, and coordinates specialized work with vendors and contractors. The role uses technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and operation and maintenance manuals to diagnose and resolve issues.

Requirements

A driver's license and clean driving record are required.
Experience with Building Automation Systems.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to follow up on maintenance tasks.

Nice To Haves

Three to five years of related experience as a maintenance worker or technician is preferred.
Experience with computerized work order systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot equipment; replace plumbing fixtures; clear drains and pipes; identify and stop leaks; and rebuild flush valves.
Monitor and adjust the building automation system to support patient and staff comfort.
Test and inspect generators; replace light fixtures and bulbs and ceiling tiles; and respond to general building issues.
Use drawings, wiring diagrams, and operation and maintenance manuals to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make repairs.
Coordinate specialized work with vendors and contractors.
Perform preventative maintenance on emergency power systems, emergency lighting, ice machines, refrigerators, HVAC equipment, and other assigned building systems.
Conduct building and mechanical room inspections in accordance with the maintenance program.
