About The Position

Belmont Behavioral Health System is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician for the 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m. shift. The technician performs routine and specific facility and equipment maintenance, which may include grounds work. The role involves general repairs and maintenance across areas such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical equipment, as well as inspections and preventive maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance or facility operations is required.
• Knowledge of standard practices, procedures, and tools in general building and maintenance trades is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair of the facility and equipment, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical equipment, or similar work.
• Serve as backup for the emergency call person and respond promptly and appropriately when needed.
• Handle equipment safely, prevent accidents, and demonstrate safe use of tools.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and instructions and complete reports as requested.
• Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment; test and start the generator weekly and maintain related equipment.
• Inspect and maintain the fire alarm system, including testing fire doors, audible and visible alarms, and smoke detectors, and record information on required forms.
• Check the condition and readiness of fire extinguishers monthly.
• Inspect and maintain lighting throughout the facility.
• Inspect and maintain plumbing systems; replace or repair faucets, toilets, urinals, traps, drains, basins, and bathtubs as needed.
• Repair or refinish furniture in rooms, offices, and the dining room as needed.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
