About The Position

The Maintenance Technician II provides a variety of standard and skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of grounds and facilities at the Center Communities of Brookline I. The role involves maintaining the building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion, and performing maintenance and repair functions as directed by the maintenance director/supervisor. A key aspect of the role is delivering excellent customer service to tenants, responding to work orders in a timely manner, and maintaining excellent documentation and communication regarding the status of work orders. The technician is responsible for ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and follow directions from the maintenance director/supervisor.
  • Take care of tools and equipment; reporting any tools found to be unsafe or broken immediately to director/supervisor.
  • Perform all tasks generated by the work order system and document all work performed as required.
  • Remain on call, (once every six weeks), for 24 hours a day during the call period.
  • Renovate apartments and ensure work is completed on time.
  • Be available for snow removal and is expected to be on site during snowstorms or any other seasonal, weather related emergency situation.
  • Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
