About The Position

The Maintenance Technician provides a variety of standard and skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of grounds and facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining the building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion, as well as performing maintenance and repair functions of the center as determined by the maintenance director/supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must have excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service to tenants.
  • Respond to work orders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain excellent documentation/communication regarding the status of work orders.
  • Maintain building and grounds to be clean, safe, and ensure repairs are completed in a professional manner.
  • Work closely with and follow directions from the maintenance director/supervisor.
  • Take care of tools and equipment; reporting any tools found to be unsafe or broken immediately to the director/supervisor.
  • Perform all tasks generated by the work order system and document all work performed as required.
  • Remain on call, once every six weeks, for 24 hours a day during the call period.
  • Renovate apartments and ensure work is completed on time.
  • Be available for snow removal and be on site during snowstorms or any other seasonal, weather-related emergency situation.
  • Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
