About The Position

Smithfield is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to maintain plant equipment and troubleshoot and repair production equipment and systems. The role works with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, plumbing, welding, and refrigeration systems, and includes performing other assigned mechanical duties. Candidates must be willing and able to complete maintenance level 4 training in accordance with the MTP program. This role includes regular work at elevated heights and exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions, including cold environments ranging from -10 to 45°F and hot environments exceeding 100°F. Smithfield offers competitive starting pay of $31.40–$33.40 per hour, a $1.00 per hour third-shift differential, and comprehensive health insurance and retirement benefits. A relocation package is not available.

Requirements

Good mechanical skills, including repair of gearboxes and bearings.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions.
Excellent attendance.
Knowledge of AC/DC controls.
Ability to continue gaining skills.
Satisfactory work record.
Experience in industrial equipment maintenance.
Ability to perform all tasks as assigned.
Willingness and ability to complete maintenance level 4 training in accordance with the MTP program.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and systems, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, plumbing, welding, and refrigeration systems.
Maintain all plant equipment.
Perform other assigned duties requiring mechanical ability.
Maintain plant drains and pipes.
Complete maintenance level 4 training in accordance with the MTP program.
