About The Position
The Maintenance Technician II works full-time for Manufacturing Maintenance Solutions (MMS) and is stationed onsite at the Caterpillar facility in East Peoria, Illinois, where MMS provides contracted maintenance support. The role involves troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment, performing preventive and scheduled maintenance, and supporting safe and efficient equipment operation. The position is for the second shift, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with pay of $26–$29 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of mechanical, electrical, industrial, or facilities maintenance experience.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Familiarity with CMMS/work-order systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on maintenance work.
Nice To Haves
- Industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical, OSHA, or EPA certifications.
- PLC or Building Automation System (BAS) experience.
- Manufacturing or industrial facility experience.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment.
- Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance.
- Work on motors, pumps, compressors, HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.
- Diagnose equipment problems and make repairs with minimal supervision.
- Replace belts, bearings, seals, valves, and other components.
- Read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Complete and document work orders using a CMMS.
- Follow LOTO and other required safety procedures.
- Support equipment installations and larger maintenance projects.
- Help minimize downtime and keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
