About The Position

Graham Packaging Company is hiring a Maintenance Technician I for its Hammond, Louisiana facility. The role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and plant facilities. The technician performs both preventive and reactive maintenance, including emergency repairs during production and scheduled repairs during machine service. The position operates on a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule. Limited travel may be required. The technician follows and enforces safety, health, quality, GMP, and company policies and practices. The role also supports product quality and plant performance goals, identifies and reports faulty operations or defective materials, and assists and trains production employees in proper equipment operation and maintenance. The posting prefers a two-year associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field and at least five years of industrial maintenance technician experience. The role requires regular and punctual attendance, computer and typing skills, strong communication and collaboration, customer service, and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and complete assignments according to instructions and accepted practices. Requirements

A minimum of five years of industrial maintenance technician experience is preferred.
Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
Computer usage and typing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective communication with internal and external customers.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Follow and enforce established safety, health, quality, GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
Monitor quality levels and adjust manufacturing processes to ensure product integrity.
Maintain controls that support plant performance against budgeted goals.
Install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
Diagnose equipment problems, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make adjustments.
Perform emergency and unscheduled production equipment repairs during operation, as well as scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Troubleshoot and repair production machines using mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Perform simple machinist skills.
Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
Detect and report faulty operations, defective material, and unusual situations to appropriate supervision.
Assist and train production employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery.
Travel when required; travel is limited.
