About The Position

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the care, maintenance, and repair of machinery, facilities, and grounds. This role involves assembling complex production equipment according to blueprints, diagrams, and written instructions, including installing and connecting various components. The technician will test assembled equipment, maintain accurate records, and troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed. Additionally, they will maintain the overall appearance and functionality of the facility through a range of repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and repairing or replacing equipment. The role requires the ability to work independently, prioritize workload effectively, and adapt to changing needs and priorities.

Requirements

  • High School education, or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues with equipment, often under tight deadlines and with limited resources.
  • Meticulous in work and able to follow instructions and procedures carefully.
  • Effective communication skills with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to ensure work is completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Awareness of and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities and willingness to learn new skills as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a background check & drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in awkward positions.
  • Must be medically qualified to work while using a half-mask respirator or powered air purifying respirator for up to four hours at a time and be able to follow Premier Research Labs’ Respiratory Protection Program guidelines.
  • Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as circumstances arise during the course of a shift.
  • Must have sufficient range of motion with arms and hands to reach overhead and to the side, often repetitively, during a 12-, 10- or 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to hear and converse with supervisors and other employees.
  • Must be able to see and read small print.
  • Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment.
  • Must be able to move or lift items weighing up to 55 pounds from floor to table and from table to floor, often repetitively, during a 12-, 10- or 8-hour shift.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Performs tasks outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to airborne dust particles, moving mechanical parts, heavy machinery and powered industrial equipment.
  • Proper PPE and gowning requirements must always be followed.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company policies, cGMP, OSHA, Federal, State and Local regulations and procedures.
  • Assemble complex production equipment according to blueprints, diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Install and connect various components such as motors, gears, conveyor belts, sensors, and control systems.
  • Test assembled equipment to ensure proper operation and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all assembly work, including any deviations from plans or instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
  • Maintain the overall appearance and functionality of the facility by completing a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform painting.
  • Perform drywall repair.
  • Fix leaks.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Repair or replace equipment as needed.
  • Work independently, with the ability to prioritize and manage own workload effectively.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
