About The Position

The Maintenance Tech will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, emergency/breakdown maintenance, and repairs on various types of machinery. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems, accurately use measurement and test equipment, and maintain detailed maintenance records. The position also involves cross-training in other technical areas, using SAP for work orders, and completing end-of-shift reports. Additionally, the role includes operating hand tools, performing fabrication such as welding, and making adjustments to equipment to improve productivity.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in a corrugating or converting facility, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge in Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic Machinery.
  • On-the-job success in safety, attendance and quality of work expected.
  • Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a corrugating or converting facility, or similar manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and practices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, measuring wear, measuring positions, repositioning components, and observing operations, vibrations, and noise levels.
  • Perform emergency / break down maintenance as necessary to support plant operations.
  • Accurately use measurement and test equipment.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other repairs and installations as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance records and other paperwork accurately and in its entirety.
  • Trouble-shoot and solve problems.
  • Willing to fully cross train in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
  • Use SAP for creating, logging time and completing work orders.
  • Ability to complete End of Shift reports and email to leaders and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Complete Contractor Training and Safety Rules for contractors when new on-site.
  • Perform and complete PMs on machines in timely manner.
  • Research and obtain correct information for ordering parts.
  • Attend outside training related to maintenance.
  • Operate all types of hand tools (i.e. drill press, grinder, wire brush, acetylene torch, etc.) normally found in a Maintenance shop.
  • Able to examine and determine to what degree parts have worn, and repair or replace parts as needed.
  • Perform fabrication of equipment (welding both arc and gas) to desired needs.
  • Be able to make adjustments on equipment to improve productivity.
  • Be able to identify and locate unusual sounds that indicate potential trouble.
  • Be able to dismantle equipment to gain access to defective parts.
